    Rain fell like needles upon the Abyssal Ravine. Above, the towering cliffs of the Lin Clan compound rose like prison walls — a prison that Lin Feng had called home for seventeen years.

    Now, broken and bleeding at the bottom of the three-thousand-meter ravine, he stared up and felt nothing but cold fury.

    “Trash. Cripple. Waste of resources.”

    Elder Lin Bao had stood before the entire clan, declared Lin Feng crippled. What he had not said was that he was the one who destroyed his spiritual roots.

    Something gleamed in the darkness below. A jade pendant carved as a dragon coiled around a lotus, warm as a millennia-old fire.

    The moment his blood touched the pendant, the world went white.

    “Child, you who have fallen to the deepest abyss… do you wish to rise?”

    “I accept,” Lin Feng said.

    The jade pendant shattered. Ten thousand streams of light poured into his body. His shattered dantian dissolved, and something entirely new began to form. Something that had never existed before in the history of the Azure Cloud Continent.

    Deep in the Abyssal Ravine, Lin Feng began to cultivate.
