Welcome to the Power Shop.
The Power Shop is a new ability that you, the player, has unlocked. Not only will you be able to access many powers, you will be able to interchange them and combine them with others. This is a special opportunity only for you, a reward for completing the game up to 80% completion as the first person worldwide.
How does one go about acquiring these abilities? Well, that is simple. You only need to find them in the great catalog below, and after a few ‘presses’ of a button, you can purchase them and place them in your inventory.
Your inventory is located on the upper left corner of this menu. Upon clicking it, you will see three item equipment slots and empty slots below. From these empty slots, think about dragging the ability you would like to use towards one of the three equipment slots you currently have unlocked.
Be warned, however, these abilities can only be changed once per day. We usually recommend changing these in the morning.
And that’s all!
If you have any further questions, don’t worry about that. Just click the question mark on the upper right corner, and our artificial guide will help you with anything you need!
Good luck!
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT? A player? An inventory? WHAT? Was this an RPG game? That wasn’t the case! Sure, my superhero life had action parts, but it wasn’t anything like this – no equipping powers or anything of the sort. You just chose how the main character developed his power and which way he used it; that changed some outcomes of the branching path lines, but nowhere near this much.
And this also felt nothing like a video game to Nathan. Already, he accepted this as a new reality.
Though it also made him far, far more excited than he would have liked to admit. Buying powers, equipping three at once, was a dream come true. Finally, his overpowered ability had come—no longer would he just get slightly enhanced because of his bank account status. He could already feel himself smile, the corners of his mouth dragged upwards absent-mindedly.
Buying powers, having three at once… he would be unstoppable. The minor perk of having his body enhanced would still help make him more durable, but having several powers at once… That was the true gold mine that he was waiting for until now. His golden ticket towards achieving his goal.
And there was no one he could really tell. He wasn’t quite so sure he even wanted to. There wasn’t anyone left here to tell. His mom though… she was in New York. But if he died in there… no, he could focus on things like that later.
Now, he had a whole new system to check out. He clicked the catalog button and so many abilities opened in front of his eyes that he couldn’t even believe it. All available for purchase. It almost made his head swim. He would have grinned even more, would have laughed at how overpowered he would become, surely, if only it wasn’t for one minor detail.
They were all overpriced as hell.
They were so expensive that the prices made his head swim once again. Telekinesis of 500 kilos for 1 million dollars?! What the actual fuck?
“What is it?” Alicia asked, looking at him sideways, making him realize that he didn’t, in fact, say that in his head.
“Nothing, nothing. I just realized I forgot something.” Nathan hid his surprise, pointing his eyes out of the window so she wouldn’t see his expression. The system window followed his view, seeming as if it was projecting right outside of the car.
“Okay, whatever. Weird, though.”
“What?”
“I forget how weird you get sometimes.”
Says you, miss explosive teddy bear, he thought, but dismissed the notion. Okay, so the powers are obviously completely overpriced. Would all of them be like that? Though he wasn’t going to complain.
Okay, maybe he complained a little.
He looked at the system window and the telekinesis power that he had selected previously, and when he thought about it more, the window of the power expanded, bringing more details with it. Not only the price, but also the class of the power and some other classifications and descriptions.
It was an A-class power. That meant something, right? He minimized it once again, trying to get used to the strange menu, though it wasn’t that different from video. He focused on the large catalog, and tried to change it so it would get sorted by the rank of the powers.
Immediately, the sight in front of him changed. and completely new powers appeared.

These were priced lower. Most of them at the beginning were priced at 500 dollars, though the price rose as he scrolled more and more. The only classifications weren’t just F class but they went to F+ and E-. The way these were classified was a mystery to Nathan himself, but he didn’t care, just as long as he could enhance his current power. What he discovered was that it probably wouldn’t be that easy.
All of these powers, some of them he could buy, but all of them were fucking trash.
Not only were the F-class powers weak. Most of these were hard to imagine a use for at all. He could buy most of the ones at the bottom, and there were hundreds of those listed, but they were, for the most part, useless. So useless that he couldn’t even imagine them helping him in any situation at all. Certainly not in a fight with a superhero who would be standing against him.
He was about to get hopeless, but then another thought came to his mind: these weren’t complete powers. No, they were components. He could have three at once. Could he combine them in some way?
He was about to look at them more closely, but Alicia then turned sharply into a McDonald’s drive-thru, making him snap out of it and close the menu. She still looked stunned from the sight they had seen today, her eyes having the look of someone who saw something they never should have.
Nathan didn’t feel much better himself.
