The Last Respawn of Ash Vey
Ash Vey was supposed to die in the tutorial. Instead, he becomes the first player in the world to trigger a hidden failure condition: permanent death that isn’t permanent. Every time Ash dies, he respawns at the nearest conquered checkpoint—but loses levels, memories of recent skills, and a piece of something far worse: his real name in the System. When the world’s new reality-game rewards risk-takers with classes, loot, and territory, Ash realizes his cursed respawn ability can do what no one else can. He can scout unwinnable dungeons, learn boss patterns through death, and claim impossible first clears before rival guilds even reach the entrance.
But the deeper Ash pushes into the fractured tower-city of Eclipsed Haven, the more the System pushes back. His class evolves into something no guide should exist for: Grave Runner, a momentum-based class that turns death, debuffs, and near-defeat into explosive power spikes. Hunted by streamer guilds, desperate survivors, and a hidden admin faction erasing bugged players, Ash forms a party of outcasts and races to uncover why the world was gamified at all. If he reaches the top floor, he might save humanity. If he dies too many times first, there may be nothing left of him to save.
