The Last Safe Floor

When the System descends, it does not announce humanity’s ascension. It locks every city inside invisible walls, turns the streets into hunting grounds, and converts every skyscraper into a vertical dungeon. Safe zones exist only above the tenth floor, monster waves rise from below each night, and anyone who fails to awaken a Class becomes meat for the things crawling out of the subways.

Mason Vale, a burned-out paramedic haunted by the people he couldn’t save, awakens with the rare Gravewarden Class after dying for thirty-seven seconds during the first wave. His power lets him bind the dead, harvest memories from corpses, and build sanctuaries from bones—but every upgrade drags him closer to the monsters he fights. As survivors fracture into floor kingdoms, corporate warlords, cults, and cannibal militias, Mason must climb a ruined hospital tower to protect a group of strangers who may be humanity’s last chance.

But the System is not a gift, nor a test. It is a harvest engine, and Earth is only the newest field.
