The Last Safe Zone

When the sky splits open and the System descends, every city on Earth becomes a dungeon and every human receives a choice: awaken a class, hide behind failing walls, or die screaming in the dark. Ex-paramedic Mara Vale survives the first monster wave in the flooded tunnels beneath Seattle, only to awaken as a forbidden class no faction wants alive: a Gravetide Warden, able to harvest power from the dead and bind the horrors that killed them.

The remaining survivors gather inside Safe Zone 12, a crumbling hospital protected by a weakening System barrier and ruled by desperate alliances. Outside, mutated beasts roam streets drowned in black rain. Inside, food is currency, classes are weapons, and the strongest survivors are already building kingdoms from the bones of the old world.

As monster waves intensify and rival factions hunt her for her terrifying abilities, Mara must decide what kind of leader survival demands: healer, executioner, or something worse. Because the System is not saving humanity. It is preparing them for whoever sent it.
