The Last Safe Zone

When the System descends, it does not announce humanity’s evolution. It screams through every device on Earth at once, locks the sky behind a black aurora, and turns every shadow into a doorway for things that should not exist. In the ruins of Pittsburgh, former paramedic Mara Venn survives the first monster wave by doing what she has always done: keeping the dying alive long enough to matter.
