Chapter 57: Lu Jing Becomes Anxious!
by inkadmin“Flee, I must flee!”
After learning the true condition of the Mo family ancestor, Ye Chen was consumed by a single thought. Whether his family’s patriarch had broken through to Foundation Establishment or not, there was no longer any reason for him to remain in Silver Moon Market. Once the Mo family ancestor dies, everything here will descend into complete chaos. As for the opportunity to join the Green Cloud Sect, it would be ideal if he could secure it.
But even if he couldn’t gain entry, with the system at his side, he could sail through smoothly, without the need to put himself at risk. Resolute in his decision, Ye Chen returned to his room, held Lu Jing in his arms, offered a few words of comfort, and then sank into a deep sleep.
…
The next day.
The news that the Mo family ancestor had stepped out to suppress the chaos spread quickly throughout Silver Moon Market. Everyone soon learned that the Mo family ancestor was not nearing death, as previously assumed. His absence had merely been a clever ploy, fishing for opportunities.
The deliberately uncleaned bloodstains soaked the streets, staining Silver Moon Market with a pungent, iron-scented atmosphere.
Yet, life in Silver Moon Market returned to normal. Shops reopened, cultivators resumed their walks through the streets. As for the numerous deaths? In the cultivation world, it was hardly a major event. No one paid it any mind.
Ye Chen, however, headed straight for Green Cloud Shop.
“What, you want to buy a flying boat?”
Upon hearing Ye Chen’s request, Sun Ye was taken aback, his eyes widening in surprise. A flying boat was a magical tool for flight, designed to help cultivators travel quickly. Its speed was unmatched, allowing for swift escapes or rapid travel over long distances.
However, the price was equally high. The materials required were vast, and the array formations complex. Even the most basic flying boat would cost at least one high-grade spirit stone. For lower-tier cultivators, this was an absolute luxury, something only the disciples of major families or prodigies could afford. Foundation Establishment cultivators would also consider such a purchase. Even someone as well-off as Sun Ye had never brought himself to buy a flying boat.
Seeing his surprise, Ye Chen explained it was for his family. Sun Ye nodded but remained skeptical, inwardly wondering if Ye Chen’s father had embezzled family funds and was now planning to flee, hence buying a flying boat. But Sun Ye didn’t particularly care where the money came from, as long as he made a profit.
“Green Cloud Shop in Silver Moon Market doesn’t stock flying boats,” Sun Ye said, leaning forward. “If you need one, I can send a message to arrange it. It’ll take about a month for delivery. However, you’ll need to pay a deposit of ten middle-grade spirit stones first.”
Ye Chen nodded without hesitation and paid the deposit. He secured a low-grade flying boat. A low-grade flying boat had no special features other than the ability to fly, and it was small, able to seat only three people.
But for Ye Chen, it was more than enough. After all, he wasn’t planning to use it for himself. He was buying it to give to someone else. Once the time was right, he would multiply it tenfold or even fifteenfold.
Ye Chen couldn’t reveal to his family that he had foreseen the Mo family ancestor’s impending death, and therefore couldn’t rely entirely on his family’s support. Instead, he was preparing the flying boat, ready for a quick getaway whenever the need arose.
