The Tithe Below Blackwater House

When disgraced true-crime podcaster Mara Vale inherits Blackwater House, a collapsing cliffside mansion on a storm-beaten island off the Maine coast, she sees one last chance to salvage her career. Decades earlier, the isolated estate became infamous after its owners vanished during a winter blackout, leaving behind a dining table set for thirteen and a nursery smeared with seawater and blood. Mara arrives intending to document the house’s history, but the islanders greet her with fear, not curiosity, and insist the house was never abandoned. It has simply been feeding.

As tides rise higher than they should and rooms appear where no blueprints say they exist, Mara begins hearing her own voice whispering from inside the walls, recounting events she has not yet lived. The mansion seems to know her private grief, her false memories, and the secret at the heart of her ruined career.
