By sunrise, the city has become a layered killing ground of monster-spawn, collapsing physics, and a brutal System that rewards violence, adaptation, and sacrifice. Former paramedic Rowan Vale survives the first wave by sealing himself inside a subway triage room with a handful of strangers, only to awaken a class no one has ever heard of: Debtbound. Every life he saves creates a ledger. Every death leaves something owing. And the System always collects.

As safe zones emerge and neighborhoods harden into warring factions, Rowan is dragged from desperate rescues into the center of a citywide struggle over the Bell Network, a mysterious countdown buried beneath the System’s tutorials. The sirens do not mark the beginning of the apocalypse. They mark each stage of something worse. To keep his found family alive, Rowan must turn trauma into strength, bargain with entities that wear human faces, and descend into the buried infrastructure beneath Philadelphia, where the city’s dead are still answering calls.
