Chapter 1207 – Unintentional Display of Power
by“Having the Golden Forest King back will be a great help in stabilizing the beast factions that have formed all across the planet. While the Sky Whale is doing a good job, he is ultimately limited by his potential and talent. His evolution to B-grade helped tremendously, but in the end, he’d progressed primarily through system-provided natural treasures, harming his foundation significantly,” Miranda explained to Jake as they sat watching the fight between the King and Draskil.
“There are several other powerful beast lords waiting to catch up and overtake the Sky Whale, many of them even believing that if they prove themselves stronger, it can grant them his spot on the World Council. As the only monster on the World Council during this recent period, this has placed a significant amount of pressure on him. However, now with the King back, I believe things will change. None can question the talent and authority of a Unique Lifeform born to rule.”
Jake listened on as he watched the fight in the sky, definitely finding that more interesting than Miranda’s explanation about Earth’s political climate. Still, he appreciated her keeping him informed.
“I do know the King plans on properly reestablishing his authority on Earth after his absence, and I get a feeling he’s more primed now than ever,” Jake answered, remembering the King talking about how his fully regained freedom resulted in his Path finally being complete, allowing him to be a proper ruler.
“Good to hear,” Miranda said with a bit of relief in her tone. “I should also let you know that the moon is rapidly being overtaken by Arnold, though I can’t provide many details, seeing as he’s primarily building within the celestial object. Additionally, when it comes to our current immigration policies, we are…”
Miranda proceeded to really get Jake up to date over the next several minutes. He already knew many of the things she said, with Miranda either reminding him or expanding the subject with more details than the last time they spoke.
One of the topics Jake was interested in hearing about was the recent appearance of unknown enemies on Earth with equally unknown gods backing them. It was a bit silly to admit, but before now, Jake hadn’t even considered that this mysterious group could be connected to the ones who’d tried to kidnap him in the void.
Both groups had gods among them, and both were strict about maintaining anonymity and not revealing any names. However, Jake also felt that there was a good chance they truly had nothing to do with each other, as even without this new mystery faction, there were already plenty of gods willing and able to cause problems for Earth.
A part of Jake really wanted to mention what happened in the void to Miranda, hoping she might have some insights, but he chose not to. The agreement had been to keep things under wraps, and he would stick to that for now.
From the sounds of it, the unknown group on Earth and the rest of the Milky Way hadn’t made any major moves recently, but still sometimes popped up, primarily in isolated settlements and smaller cities with easily manipulated local political leaders.
Yeah, the more Jake heard, the less he envied Miranda having to deal with all that shit. At least she would have help from the King and Sword Saint now, giving Earth some extra raw power to show off.
Speaking of raw power…
“Where’s Scarlett at, by the way?” Jake asked, wanting to talk to the snake since it had been so long. No, not the kind of talk he had with Meira, as he truly didn’t believe any feelings Scarlett had ever exceeded those of an infatuated fan-girl.
“On another planet, handling the appearance of a B-grade monster that, upon evolution, suddenly believed she was the new ruler of the entire world,” Miranda answered, clearly not worried about the situation.
“Damn, I’d hoped to meet her, but oh well, next time,” Jake said casually.
“If you stay around for a few days, she should return.”
“Nah, I have things I prefer to do at the Order. Do let her know she’s free to visit me, though, if you can spare her,” Jake responded. “Anyone else notable on the planet I should know about?”
“Assuming you’re asking about people like Carmen, Eron, or even Maria… no,” Miranda answered. “Honestly, I have no idea where all of them are right now. I believe they’re busy doing matters related to their own factions and likely not even in this universe, but all I can do is make educated guesses.”
“Alright,” Jake sent a mental acknowledgment. “Say… do you also think things are escalating a bit too much?”
“It’s certainly headed in that direction,” Miranda agreed, briefly throwing a glance towards the many gaping young masters and mistresses at the door Miranda had already told him about earlier. “It does seem to have left an impression, though.”
The fight between the King and Draskil ultimately became an unintentional display of power, which was only to be expected given the participants involved. However, perhaps more impactful than the might displayed by the two was how the fight eventually ended.
As the fight dragged on, it became clear that Draskil was gaining the upper hand. He was already a pinnacle-level genius, and combined with his higher level, it wasn’t unexpected that he proved stronger. Jake did reckon that, had they been at the same level, the Unique Lifeform would have walked away with a victory.
However, even if Draskil was stronger, that didn’t mean he could dominate the King, resulting in him having to pull out more power, thus making the King respond in kind. Honestly, Jake was just happy the two had taken about a quarter of an hour before they reached this point, as it had allowed Jake to feel good once more.
“I guess I’ll tell them to calm down before they end up destroying something… or worst case, toss both of them into space to continue their little spar,” Jake casually sent Miranda as he stood up while carefully making sure not to bother the resting Sylphie too much while placing her on his chair.
His movement caught the eyes of the many observers, who all congregated around the broken doorway to the teleportation chamber, not one of them daring to walk closer despite so much time passing.
After hearing that Miranda was in agreement, it was decided that it was best to stop things here. Jake unleashed his aura now that he felt confident it would be stable. She had already told him her hope that Jake would leave an impression, so he made sure to mix in plenty of that Bloodline to fully suppress the young masters and mistresses.
Once he’d seen a few fall to their knees in fright, Jake took to the air and flew toward the two fighting C-grades. Even if the fight had escalated, both had been mindful enough not to aim their attacks at the ground while keeping most abilities focused on intensity over scope to limit the risk of environmental damage.

However, as they pulled out more power, control lessened, and if they both started using boosting skills, Jake was certain that at least a few mountains would be broken and the surrounding land terraformed. Honestly, Jake had to praise Miranda’s foresight in placing the teleportation hub a fair distance away from the actual city.
His approach was noticed by the two, but that didn’t stop them, as Draskil blocked a golden hammer with one hand and threw a dark green ball of fire with the other. The King blocked it with a blast of force before unleashing a golden claw.
Draskil responded with a claw of his own. The two large claws of pure energy clashed in the air, sending out shockwaves that both soldiered through as their claws made physical contact.
Following a second explosion, the King ended up being pushed back, but he didn’t seem deterred as he prepared to pull out even more energy, now one step away from having to unleash his boosting skill. Something Jake was determined to avoid.
“Let’s stop here,” Jake yelled once he was close enough, making sure to project his voice loud enough for those below to hear.
In an ideal world, the two would have done as requested; however, powerful individuals tended not to take kindly to others interfering in their affairs. That, or perhaps the two just found something more entertaining to do than fight one another.
As one, both turned towards Jake, a tacit agreement between them as they each raised a hand and unleashed a blast of force and a beam of energy. Jake decided to take the challenge and show off a little.
